Chrome Protection

Protecting Chrome can be a simple thing with the right products and time put into your chrome pieces on your vehicle. By following these guidelines your chrome should last through the winter and you will be able to rock your rims through the snow and ice of any winter season

First after each and every use of the car you must wash off the car concentraiting on the rims and the chrome accessories this rinses off all the salt and prevents the salt from pitting your chrome. This is a the process where salt eats away at the chrome creating little holes that salt continues to force itself into making the holes larger and larger, resulting in rust. By washing off all the salt there will be less and less chances for pitting. Also to create a barrier to salt you can coat all chrome accessories and rims with a number of different products to keep salt out. You can apply wax, or chrome polish followed by synthetic wax, or a wheel sealant, or a teflon based wheel care product. Apply these products a couple times per month to ensure that the barrier stays in tact.

Or as a last resort if you are purchasing new rims or accessories you can opt for stainless steel or forged aluminum, the claim to never rust.
